ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Join a transversal data team based in Porto, working with international stakeholders to design, build and improve Big Data solutions for a corporate IT and technology operations environment. This opportunity is suited to a Data Engineer with strong Big Data, Python and PySpark experience, autonomy and a continuous improvement mindset.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and maintain datalake pipelines using Python and PySpark.
- Analyze requirements and propose architecture solutions within a datalake environment.
- Gather, document, review and manage application requirements in an Agile context.
- Implement data use cases from simple to complex, with a focus on efficiency and automation.
- Maintain existing data processes and support users with technical needs.
- Work closely with business users, business analysts, data engineers and developers to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Contribute to local initiatives and projects from assessment and use case identification to data preparation, implementation and industrialization.
- Review existing processes critically and propose improvements, especially around performance and optimization.
- Collaborate with distributed teams and stakeholders in an international environment.
- Travel abroad for short periods when required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related data delivery roles.
- At least 4 years of professional experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies.
- Professional working proficiency in English, minimum B2 level.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns, trends, seasonality and data behaviours.
- Ability to communicate data insights, findings and results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Autonomy, organization and prioritization skills.
- Proactive, accountable and solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work effectively in international and distributed teams.
- Willingness to learn, share knowledge and contribute to collective improvement.
- Resilience and adaptability in changing delivery contexts.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY
Base salary range: EUR 22,000 - EUR 28,000 gross/year
Total compensation: up to EUR 34,000/year
The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
