Join our team as a Database Management Specialist/Services Coordination (Hybrid – Porto)!

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the full lifecycle of database platforms and related components.
• Administer and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB environments (on-premises and cloud).
• Support and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases (on-premises and cloud).
• Design, implement, and test backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, ensuring RTO/RPO objectives are met.
• Monitor database capacity, including storage, CPU, memory, and disk usage, and plan future resource requirements.
• Manage database security at both the system and application levels, including user access, authentication, roles, and permissions.
• Analyze and optimize SQL queries using performance analysis tools (e.g., Explain Plan, AWR, profilers).
• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
• Manage database deployments, schema changes, and releases through CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve operational issues.
• Improve database monitoring, automation, and error-prevention processes.
• Recommend and implement operational improvements aligned with database best practices.
• Participate in database-related projects and infrastructure initiatives.
• Take part in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support production environments.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Database Administration or Database Services Coordination.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Experience with Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Knowledge of database lifecycle management, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Experience with backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
• Understanding of capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization.
• Experience implementing database security, including user management, roles, privileges, and authentication.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills.
• Experience with database schema management, deployments, and CI/CD processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with database monitoring and automation tools.
• Relevant certifications in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server (preferred).
• Native Portuguese and English (minimum B1).
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (at least two days per week in Maia).
• Availability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
