About the role

Celfocus is seeking a DevOps / Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and evolve a Group Data Platform.

This role is ideal for experienced engineers who combine strong cloud expertise with automation and operational excellence. You will play a key role in shaping the platform that supports data services across the organisation, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and easy to use by internal teams.

Your Mission

You will design, build, and operate the platform layer that enables data services to run efficiently in the cloud. This includes infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and production reliability.

You are expected to take ownership across the full lifecycle: from infrastructure design to production support and continuous improvement.

As a part of your job, you will:

  • Platform & Infrastructure Engineering
  • Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Continuously improve scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency of the platform
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Group Data Platform architecture
  • CI/CD & Automation
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Standardise and automate deployment processes across all environments
  • Promote automation and reduce manual operations wherever possible
  • Cloud & Application Runtime
  • Manage and optimise workloads on AWS (ECS, EC2, Glue, Athena, CloudFront, WAF)
  • Support containerised microservices (Docker, ECS)
  • Ensure consistent and reliable application deployments
  • Reliability & Operations (SRE mindset)
  • Monitor platform and applications using tools such as Datadog or Coralogix
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in pre-production and production environments
  • Improve system reliability, observability, and operational practices
  • Participate in incident management and escalation processes
  • Collaboration & Enablement
  • Work closely with data, development, and architecture teams
  • Contribute to best practices for DevOps and platform usage
  • Support teams in adopting the platform effectively

What are we looking for?

  • 4–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar roles
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services (ECS, EC2, Glue, Athena, CloudFront, WAF)
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Solid understanding of containerised environments (Docker, microservices)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Coralogix)
  • Experience in production support and incident management
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira)

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to Azure environments
  • Experience working with data platforms or data engineering teams
  • Understanding of SRE principles (SLIs/SLOs, reliability practices)

Personal traits

  • Ability to adapt to different contexts, teams, and Clients;
  • Teamwork skills but also a sense of autonomy;
  • Motivation for international projects and ok if travel is included;
  • Willingness to collaborate with other players;
  • Strong communication skills.
