Description

The Health, Safety and Security Specialist is responsible, within the country for managing risks (employees or infrastructure related) and Health & Safety obligations from the Company and the employees, in a manner that satisfies legislation, best practices and corporate position / reputation. This area is responsible for reducing the risk of personal injury to employees and also the risk of corporate damage and financial loss in accordance with Health and Safety legislation (where appropriate). This person implements corporate security processes and procedures (including emergency and recovery plans) and ensures they are applied.

Support to work and office refurbish related to Security, Health and Safety aspects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement policies, procedures and best practices for safety and security.
  • Conduct safety and security reviews at sites to measure compliance, including on aspects of universal accessibility.
  • Security of people and assets – implement appropriate physical and people protection for office and project locations.
  • Emergency Planning & Business Continuity Planning – assist efforts to establish plans, keep up-to-date, and provide direction on training / testing approaches.
  • Maintain emergency and recovery plans within the country or office.
  • Measure compliance with Health and Safety legislation within the Country and Client Sites (where appropriate), reduce the exposure to injury for employees and also reduce the risk of financial loss. Implement and maintain Health and Safety policies, procedures, documentation, training, and mandatory evidences to facilitate company compliance with legislation.
  • Implement adequate Health and Safety standards regarding Accenture Offices and Client Sites, especially when work is performed in Industrial settings.
  • Help to identify safety and security risks that may affect Accenture offices in Portugal.
  • Monitor the maintenance of the access control, CCTV and IDS systems and coordinate with vendors recovery from malfunctions.
  • Keep up to date security information related with access control, CCTV and IDS systems.
  • Liaison with Health & Safety, and Security vendors the support and assistance to Safety and Emergency equipment (Fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, emergency doors, etc) and respective signage.
  • Use Safety and Security checklists to access compliance.
  • Help to implement the mitigations identified by Global Security and Global EH&S teams, or improvements identified in Audits, for each office or Contract deployed at Client sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health & Safety functions.
  • Minimum of 3 years of that experience within Industry, such as Oil Refineries, electrical production or distribution (BT / MT / AT) including wind-mills, or other industries with high operational EH&S risks and demanding standards.
  • Security floor warden and First Aider experience.
  • Security, Health & Safety specialized and experience-on-the-job knowledge, with deep understanding of legislation, national/european/international standards and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills (incl. dispute resolution), showing proactivity and autonomy.
  • Negotiation and providing alternative approaches.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English; conversational Spanish.
  • Proficient usage of Office 365 tools - proficiency in Excel and Word is mandatory.
  • Experienced in EH&S tools used in the industry for reporting, such as Achilles, Cority, Enablon, etc.
