World’s Top Industrial Automation Experts Head to Porto for IEEE ETFA 2025

From September 9–12, the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto (FEUP) will host the 30th IEEE Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA), drawing around 400 global participants from industry, academia, and research.

Organized by FEUP’s Luís Almeida and the Polytechnic of Turin’s Marina Indri, the event will feature 40 technical sessions, industry forums, and keynote speakers from Critical Manufacturing, INRIA, and COMAU.

Highlights include a special NIST session on industrial wireless systems and panels on open, interoperable automation. ETFA 2025 marks the first time the flagship IEEE Industrial Electronics Society event returns to Portugal since 2003.
