Salesforce is laying off more than 1,000 employees while continuing to hire for AI-focused roles, Bloomberg News reported. The company is restructuring as it pushes into artificial intelligence-driven products, including its Agentforce platform for AI-powered virtual representatives.
Displaced workers will have the opportunity to apply for internal positions, but it remains unclear which divisions will be affected by the job cuts. Salesforce has not commented on the report.
This follows previous layoffs, with 700 jobs cut in January 2024 and another 300 in July 2024. As of January 31, 2024, Salesforce had 72,682 employees, according to its annual report.
The company is set to report its quarterly earnings on February 26.
