Revolut is making waves in Iberia — the fintech is launching 50 branded ATMs in Madrid and Barcelona this June, kicking off a major push into physical banking. By 2026, Portugal, Italy, and Germany will get their own Revolut ATMs, starting in Lisbon and Porto for Portugal.
This summer, Revolut will open its Portuguese branch, aiming to become the “main bank” for locals by integrating with the national Multibanco and MBWay networks. Growth director Ignacio Zunzunegui highlights Portugal’s strong market penetration—about 16-17% of adults use Revolut—and believes it could be among the top 3 banks in the country within a few years.
Revolut’s global user base hits 55 million, with 1.5 million in Portugal alone. The company posted €934 million profit in 2024, doubling from the previous year, driven by expanding services and customer reach.
