PrimeIT, a Portuguese technology consultancy founded in 2007 and active in 50 cities worldwide, has appointed João Cunha Lopes as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He will also serve as Head of Delivery for Nearshore projects, leveraging his extensive background in software development.
A graduate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and holder of a General Management Degree from Nova SBE, Cunha Lopes began his career in 2000 at Banco Santander Totta. His professional journey includes roles at Isban (Madrid), Datacomp, Mailtec, CTT-where he led IT Digital Channels for over seven years-and Mastercard, where he served as Software Engineering Director.
In his new role, Cunha Lopes will be responsible for defining and executing PrimeIT’s global technology strategy, leading engineering teams across all geographies, and driving standardization, automation, and innovation. His focus will be on enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring PrimeIT remains competitive and forward-looking in the global consulting landscape.
