Luís Silva, President of Porto Tech Hub, has praised the Portuguese government’s 2025 State Budget (OE2025) for its focus on digitalization, innovation, and skills training. Speaking at the ninth edition of the Porto Tech Hub Conference, Silva highlighted the budget's potential to strengthen the technology sector through initiatives in education, connectivity, and advanced technology development.
The annual conference, held at Alfândega do Porto, has become a flagship event for the global tech community, featuring workshops on quantum computing, AI, and blockchain. This year, it expects to attract over 1,400 participants and host 25 lectures and 30 stands, underscoring Porto's growing importance as a technology hub.
Silva emphasized that investments in digital resources and training will help address talent shortages and enhance Portugal’s competitiveness. He also pointed to the sector’s resilience in tackling challenges such as deglobalization and economic instability, stressing the need for collaboration and strategic innovation to maintain global relevance.
