Portuguese home services startup Oscar is gearing up for significant growth in 2025, with plans to expand across multiple European countries, starting with the United Kingdom in the first half of the year. Following its successful launch in Spain, where the company operates in 16 cities and continues to grow rapidly, Oscar aims to solidify its position in the Iberian market while targeting new opportunities abroad.
Founder and CEO João Marques shared that Oscar plans to open a new city in Spain weekly, eventually covering the entire country. The company has also raised over €7 million to date, with a new strategic funding round scheduled for the first quarter of 2025 to support its expansion goals.
Spain’s performance has exceeded expectations, with growth four times faster than in Portugal. The business has grown 14 times in just six months, driven by strong customer adoption and recommendations. Globally, Oscar boasts over 500,000 customers and expects to quadruple that number within the next year.
With current revenues approaching €20 million annually, Oscar projects business volume to grow to €60–80 million in 2025, with over half coming from new international markets. To support this growth, the company is actively recruiting talent for its offices in Lisbon, Porto, and Madrid, as well as new markets.
