Nvidia has invested $1 billion in Nokia, causing the Finnish company’s stock price to rise by 22%. As part of the deal, Nokia is issuing over 166 million new shares, and the money from this will be used for its AI projects and business growth.
Nvidia and Nokia have also started a partnership to work together on developing future 6G networks and improving Nokia’s 5G and 6G software so it runs smoothly on Nvidia’s chips.
This teamwork is meant to combine AI power with modern telecom systems, helping both companies lead in the next big step of digital communication.
This investment is part of Nvidia’s plan to grow its AI network.
Recently, the company has made big financial commitments, such as $5 billion to Intel, $100 billion to OpenAI, $667 million to the U.K. cloud company Nscale, and $500 million to the self-driving car company Wayve.
