NTT Data has announced plans to lay off 108 employees connected to its operations at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) campus by the end of the year. The decision marks a significant shift, coming just four years after the company revealed a $9.9 million investment in Nashville aimed at strengthening its regional presence.
The international technology and consulting firm, which provides IT and digital transformation services to major healthcare clients, did not specify whether the layoffs are part of a broader restructuring or tied directly to changes in its VUMC contract.
NTT Data continues to operate several U.S. offices and employs thousands nationwide. However, the move reflects ongoing pressures in the healthcare IT sector, where automation, contract realignments, and efficiency initiatives are reshaping workforce needs.
