Leadership Change at La Redoute Portugal: Damien Poelhekke Takes Over

After 33 years at La Redoute Portugal and nearly two decades as CEO, Paulo Pinto is stepping down to pursue new challenges. Taking his place is Damien Poelhekke, the current CEO of La Redoute Spain, who will now lead the brand across the Iberian market.

Under Paulo Pinto’s leadership since 2007, La Redoute Portugal successfully transitioned from a catalogue-based business to a digital-first retailer, expanding beyond fashion into home goods through La Redoute Intérieurs. He also oversaw the implementation of shared services in IT and accounting, employing around 150 people in these areas.

As the new Iberian CEO, Damien Poelhekke brings experience from Zalando and Made.com, and will continue to drive the brand’s digital and international growth. Meanwhile, La Redoute’s Leiria outlet is set to close by the end of May, marking another shift in the company’s retail strategy.

This transition signals a new chapter for La Redoute in Portugal, reinforcing its focus on e-commerce and home categories, which now account for 75% of sales.
