American unicorn Iterable is ramping up AI development at its Lisbon hub, the only one outside the U.S. with dedicated technology and product teams. The Portuguese team is currently leading the development of Nova, the company’s new AI Agent and experimentation platform for marketers.
“We’re building an AI-powered experimentation layer right here in Lisbon,” said Samya DasSarma, CTO of Iterable, during a recent visit. The hub, which launched last year, is set to reach 25 employees by September and continues to recruit locally and internationally. About 20% of the team is foreign, including engineers from the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
“We don’t see many obstacles in attracting and retaining talent,” DasSarma added, noting the city’s strong tech appeal. Iterable’s Lisbon office is its third global hub, and a key part of the company’s AI-focused future. Starting in August, Iterable co-founder Andrew Boni will shift from CEO to Chief Scientist, as Sam Allen steps into the CEO role.
