InnoWave Launches the AgentWave Platform, Heavily Investing in Generative AI

The Portuguese tech company InnoWave is heavily investing in generative AI with the launch of AgentWave, a platform designed to enhance all stages of the software development life cycle. Unveiled during the Millennium Estoril Open, the solution is central to InnoWave’s broader strategy of integrating generative AI across all areas of its business.

According to CEO Tiago Gonçalves, AgentWave will simulate the functions of various roles of employees — from programmers to project managers — through intelligent agents that enhance efficiency and productivity. The initiative is part of a 1 million euro investment in generative AI, included in the company's strategic plan "NEXT", which extends until 2028.

Despite the focus on technology, Gonçalves emphasizes that talent remains a priority: “We will continue to recruit and invest in training our people for AI.”

InnoWave aims to incorporate AI in all internal departments and customer services. Internally, it is transforming processes from human resources to finance, while externally, it is promoting the integration of AI into its sustainability efforts, supplier relations and customer solutions. The company is also collaborating with Ground Capital on an AI acceleration program through Startup Lisboa, which has already supported nine startups and aims to reach 50 by the end of the year.

Regarding growth, InnoWave closed 2024 with 22 million euros in revenue, 60% of which came from international markets. For 2025, the company aims to reach 26 million euros, driven by three strategic pillars: aggressive expansion in the US market (targeting 27% of global revenue), full integration of AI, and diversification beyond telecommunications into the banking, insurance and energy sectors.

“We believe this is a highly disruptive moment. Every business will have to reinvent itself,” said Gonçalves, signaling a future where AI is not just a tool, but an integral part of InnoWave's DNA.
