Indra Sistemas has notified Portugal’s Competition Authority of its plan to acquire exclusive control over Hispasat and Hisdesat, both key players in the satellite communications sector. The notification, submitted on April 4, 2025, and effective from May 2, is under review as per Portuguese competition law.
Indra, active in Portugal via Deimos Engenharia, specializes in small satellite missions and software development. Hispasat operates in Europe, America, and North Africa, while Hisdesat focuses on satellite services for government sectors like defense and security.
The Competition Authority invites comments from interested parties, which must include contact details and, if applicable, a non-confidential version for publication.
