Galp and Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) just opened Técnico ProtoLab, a new lab where students can play around with ideas and build prototypes.
The goal? To transform concepts into actual, workable solutions.
The lab is on IST’s Alameda campus and will give engineering students hands-on experience. It will also encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and closer collaboration between the school and businesses.
This project grows the existing work between Galp and IST, which includes a hydrogen-powered racing car and an electric motorcycle. IST president Rogério Colaço says the lab shows how valuable it is when universities and companies work together. Ana Casaca, Innovation Director at Galp, says ProtoLab will speed up innovation and help people work together to solve energy problems.
