DGERT says it found irregularities in Teleperformance’s collective dismissal process in Lisbon, Porto, and Covilhã and has now handed the case to ACT after the company failed to correct the issues. The Ministry of Labor confirms that 218 jobs are on the line, split between operations and support roles, after the company lost 25 projects and saw four more reduced.
Teleperformance rejects the accusations and insists the entire process followed the law. The company says it maintained constant communication with DGERT and ACT, met individually with every affected employee, and provided all requested clarifications on time. It argues that the layoffs stem from a volatile European market and a broader restructuring effort, not from any procedural wrongdoing.
