Deloitte is merging its legal services with Telles, forming a new company called Deloitte Legal & Telles. The new organization will be headed by Francisco Espregueira Mendes, who is currently the managing partner at Telles.
Telles has about 150 lawyers and 27 partners, with an annual revenue of €19 million.
It will combine with Deloitte Legal, which has 60 lawyers, making this the first big step into multidisciplinary collaboration since new rules in Portugal started in April 2024.
This change shows a bigger trend in the legal industry: more law firms are working with other professionals like consultants and auditors under one company.
Firms like Morais Leitão and PLMJ have already done this, and Deloitte’s move shows that the Portuguese legal market is changing quickly.
