Datadog Acquires Eppo to Enhance Product Analytics and Experimentation

Datadog has acquired Eppo, a feature-flagging and experimentation platform, continuing its acquisition spree. This follows the recent acquisition of Metaplane, an AI-powered observability startup. While the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, a report from Upstarts Media suggests Datadog paid around $220 million.

Eppo will operate under the brand "Eppo by Datadog" and continue supporting its existing customers. Founded by Che Sharma, former data scientist at Airbnb and Webflow, Eppo offers unique “confidence intervals” to help interpret randomized app experiments, especially in AI and machine learning models.

The acquisition strengthens Datadog’s product analytics and experimentation capabilities, adding to its existing tools and bolstering its product offering in the growing market for product analytics, which is expected to reach $27.01 billion by 2032.

With this acquisition, Datadog aims to provide more comprehensive solutions for businesses to reduce risk, experiment more effectively, and build high-quality products.
