Emagine, a Danish company, has acquired two Portuguese technology firms, Boost IT and Hexis, which together employ 600 people and have a combined turnover of €34 million. The acquisition was completed through a deal with Nexus Capital Group, led by Nuno Melo and Bruno Ribeiro, and marks the company's 10th transaction in the past five years.
The deal was facilitated by Axcel, a Nordic private equity firm with over €4 billion in investments. Nuno Melo, CEO of Nexus Capital Group and co-founder of Boost IT, expressed his excitement for the future, stating, “With our integration into Emagine, we are ready to elevate our services and create new and better opportunities for our employees.”
Bruno Ribeiro, CEO of Boost IT and co-founder of Nexus Capital, emphasized the company’s international success, noting that most of Boost IT’s revenues come from global markets. He expressed confidence in Emagine’s ability to further enhance their work and grow both locally and internationally.
The acquisition further strengthens Emagine's presence, which now spans 28 offices in 12 countries, including India and the UAE. With approximately 900 full-time employees and 4,700 consultants, Emagine reported revenues of €480 million in the last fiscal year.
Anders Gratte, CEO of Emagine, praised the acquisition of Boost IT, calling it a significant step in expanding their nearshore offerings and establishing a stronger foothold in the Portuguese-speaking world. The company plans to continue its expansion under the Emagine banner, offering new opportunities to both local and international customers.
