Daniela Agra says, “Atrevia started using flexible work arrangements more than 20 years ago.”

Even though Portugal is still falling behind many European countries when it comes to flexible work options, Atrevia Portugal has been using them for over two decades.

The company, which Daniela Agra leads, introduced shorter hours during the summer and free afternoons on Fridays way before hybrid and remote work became common.

Agra believes these practices help the company stay ahead of future laws and also improve employee motivation, productivity, and the ability to keep good talent.

She said, “Employees care about flexibility as much as they do about an 8% raise,” and pointed to Atrevia’s long history of offering telework, flexible hours, and a culture that focuses on results.

Agra believes the future of work in Portugal will depend on making work models fit both professional and personal needs.

For Atrevia, flexibility is not just a perk—it’s a key strategy. It helps the company draw in and keep top talent, lowers absences, and builds a stronger company culture.
