Critical Manufacturing has acquired Convanit, a German company known for its AI-based image analytics tool “c-Alice,” to enhance its MES platform with powerful visual intelligence capabilities. This move supports the growing demand for smarter, faster, and more accurate inspection tools in high-tech manufacturing.
Convanit’s c-Alice solution allows teams to build custom AI models for visual inspection without coding. It turns manual, time-consuming processes into automated, precise tasks with built-in quality checks. The tool integrates image data with real-time shop floor insights, helping users detect defects early, issue alerts, and connect everything directly to MES workflows.
The acquisition aims to democratize AI use on the shop floor, enabling engineers and technicians—regardless of coding experience—to create and train visual models.
