Even in a challenging economic climate, Portugal remains a tech investment hotspot, with Lisbon and Porto leading in talent concentration. However, Braga, Aveiro, and Faro are emerging as growing hubs. Hybrid work dominates among startups and medium-sized firms, while larger organizations are pushing for return-to-office policies.
The study underscores rising salaries, with backend engineers earning up to €110,000/year and engineering leaders surpassing €150,000. Python and React remain the most sought-after technologies, while AI and machine learning are gaining traction.
To stay competitive, companies are enhancing benefits, including reduced working weeks, private health insurance, and continuous training programs, to attract and retain top talent.
