Kinetic, a Canadian company providing event management and student accommodation software for higher education, has acquired Bullet Solutions, a spin-off from the University of Porto. Bullet Solutions specializes in software for automatically generating timetables, serving over 100 higher education institutions worldwide.
Founded two decades ago at the University of Porto's Faculty of Engineering, Bullet Solutions was acquired by Kinetic's parent company, Volaris, which is part of the larger Constellation Software group, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. This move is in line with Constellation Software's strategic goal of strengthening its portfolio by acquiring innovative companies.
Pedro Fernandes, CEO of Bullet Solutions, expressed confidence in the acquisition, noting that Kinetic's commitment to excellence and innovation makes it an ideal partner for continuing the company's growth and support of its global customer base.
Luke Warren, CEO of Kinetic, highlighted that the acquisition of Bullet aligns with their goal to enhance solutions for the higher education market. Bullet’s smart timetable solution complements Kinetic’s existing offerings, helping educational institutions optimize resource management.
Bullet Solutions, which was officially spun off from the University of Porto in 2019, offers a platform that automates the timetable generation process, saving institutions up to 90% of the time and cost involved in manual scheduling.
