Portuguese startup Bloop, blending a marketplace and social network, has officially launched its platform in beta. The platform already hosts over 200,000 active products and more than 100 sellers. During this phase, which will last six months, Bloop aims to validate its concept and gather feedback from users.
The beta launch features 200 micro-influencers who will distribute invitations with €10 credits to attract new users. Additional campaigns will run on Meta and TikTok.
Bloop plans to raise a seed round of at least €5 million within six months to fuel expansion into Spain, France, and another European market in 2026. Before that, the startup aims to close a bridge round exceeding €500,000 to support the beta phase.
The company, founded in 2022, currently has 17 employees and expects to grow to about 50 by early next year. Bloop is also investing heavily in AI to improve product search and rankings, as well as team operations.
Since inception, Bloop has raised €1.5 million from business angels, private crowdfunding, and notable investors including Microsoft executives.
