Altice Voluntary Redundancy Program to End by the End of the Year

Employees who signed up for Altice’s voluntary redundancy program can leave the company by 31 December.

According to unions, this includes 800 employees who have officially registered and 200 who have already agreed to leave, plus 66 workers who will be moved to less skilled jobs.

Altice’s voluntary exit program includes retirements, early retirements, and mutual agreements to end employment.

Unions have said some workers were pressured, harassed, or intimidated into accepting departures that were called “voluntary,” but the company said it didn’t know of any such incidents.

The unions also said that the 66 workers who are being moved to different roles will have less responsibility, fixed working hours, and will lose the flexibility they previously had.

At the same time, the unions are working on a new salary plan for 2026, which will be discussed with the company in late November or early December.

They emphasized that pay raises can’t be delayed any longer, especially not because of claims about productivity or economic problems, as happened in 2025.

By the end of 2025, the voluntary exit program will have affected about 1,000 employees, which is a big change for Altice in Portugal.
