Design, develop and maintain robust and scalable back-end services using Java and Spring Boot. You will collaborate effectively within a geographically distributed squad across Portugal and the Netherlands, contributing to technical design and architecture decisions.

O que vais fazer

• Design, develop and maintain robust and scalable back-end services using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and implement REST APIs and microservices, considering performance, security, maintainability, and resilience
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions within the squad
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices
• Maintain high standards for code reviews, automated testing and code quality
• Support CI/CD and deployment processes, working closely with DevOps and other engineering roles
• Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis
• Coach and mentor other developers, sharing knowledge and improving engineering practices within the team
• Promote practices such as pair programming, peer reviews and continuous improvement
• Communicate technical decisions clearly and be comfortable questioning and challenging existing solutions and ways of working
• Collaborate effectively within a geographically distributed squad across Portugal and the Netherlands

O que é pedido

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on Java experience
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
• Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices
• Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns and clean-code principles
• Strong experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Good understanding of application security and secure development practices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile / Continuous Delivery environments
• Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of technical topics
• Able to explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues
• Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback
• Willing to challenge solutions when needed and propose better alternatives
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in an international environment
• Professional working proficiency in English

Valorizado

• Experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP is an advantage
