Are you an SQL expert looking for an opportunity to do more with your talents, preferably in an innovative context? Then join our new IT team in Porto.

You can help shape a complex on-premises data warehouse, playing a key role in our business intelligence transformation that will encompass nearly all areas of the HEIDENHAIN Corporate Group.

The basic DWH architecture is in place, and SAP is connected.

Up next on our exciting road map are the connection of other data sources and the integration of semi-structured data, along with near-time and real-time data processing.

Your work will involve stimulating daily variety and challenging project work in close coordination with stakeholders.

Your mission

Backend development within our agile business intelligence team, with the following responsibilities:

- DWH modeling (content structure of the tables) and database design (technical definition of the DB structures, preferably Microsoft)

- Development of ETL processes and continual improvement of our self-designed ETL framework

- Programming of stored procedures

- Modeling and implementation of entities in the integration layer (containing transformation logic) of the data warehouse

- Providing support during active operation of the data warehouse

- Contributing to the design of the entire BI ecosystem at HEIDENHAIN and the larger Corporate Group in various projects

Your strengths

- Three or more years of experience in SQL development, preferably T-SQL

- Three or more years of experience in data warehouse operation (troubleshooting, error analysis)

- Strong knowledge of database development tools and ETL tools

- Preferrably knowledge in the following areas (but not required): Python programming, Microsoft Analysis Services, Tableau and QlikView development

- Strong communication skills in English
