Welthungerhilfe Launches Porto Hub for Global Digital Overhaul

German aid organization Welthungerhilfe (WHH) has chosen Porto, Portugal, for its new digital transformation center. Partnering with local tech firm xelerate.tech, the non-profit is assembling a dedicated software and SAP team to modernize its international operations.

This strategic move shows how the Welthungerhilfe Porto global digital transformation hub 2026 launch strengthens the NGO's tech capabilities, helping streamline aid distribution across 37 countries.

Expanding Tech Capabilities with Local Talent

By establishing a German NGO digital transformation center in Portugal, WHH gains access to specialized IT professionals. The initial rollout focuses on hiring SAP experts to lead the transition to SAP S/4HANA, replacing legacy tools with a unified platform by 2028.
