Viana Factory Launches Production of Data Center Equipment

Nordic Epod has launched operations at its new factory in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. The facility produces critical power optimization equipment for data centers and projects annual revenues of €650 million.

High-Value Manufacturing and Global Exports

The facility is a €50 million joint venture between CTS Group and Eaton. Built on a 110,000-square-meter site, the plant focuses on assembling specialized Electrical Power Optimization Devices (Epods) that secure continuous power distribution for major data infrastructure.

  • Production Target: The site plans to build roughly 450 Epod units every year.
  • Export-Driven Strategy: About 90% of all manufactured units will go to international markets across Europe and the Middle East.
  • Job Creation: Operating with two shifts, the company expects to grow its workforce to 500 employees as it adds a training center and product showroom.
