Salaries in Portugal’s tech sector are rising, with engineering leaders earning over €150,000 per year and backend engineers reaching up to €110,000, according to the “HTTP: Hiring Tech Talent in Portugal” study by Damia Group Portugal and SIXT.
The report highlights Python (backend, fullstack) and React (frontend) as the most in-demand technologies. While Lisbon and Porto dominate the sector, Braga, Aveiro, and Faro are also growing tech hubs.
Hybrid work is common in startups and mid-sized firms, while larger corporations push for a return to offices. Competitive perks include shorter workweeks, private health insurance, flexible schedules, and continuous training.
