Sintra, Portugal – March 2025 – Siemens volunteers have contributed to environmental conservation by planting 600 native trees in Quinta da Ribafria, in the Serra de Sintra. The initiative, which involved around 100 Siemens employees, also included land cleaning and is part of the company’s long-standing commitment to sustainability.
A Commitment to Ecological Restoration
The reforestation campaign focused on planting oak, cork oak, laurel, alder, stone pine, holly, and strawberry trees—species chosen for their resilience to pests, diseases, and wildfires. The goal is to improve the conservation status of a vital ecological area, enhancing CO2 sequestration, climate regulation, biodiversity protection, and soil conservation while also benefiting the local community.
Ricardo Nunes, CFO of Siemens Portugal, highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainability:
“Siemens strives to create value in the communities where we operate. Sustainability is a key focus, and initiatives like this not only have a direct environmental impact but are also highly valued by our employees.
