Granter.ai, a Portuguese startup, has won the Web Summit 2025 Pitch, taking both the public vote (80%) and the jury vote. VarsityScape and SegmentStream were the finalists. This marks the second consecutive year a Portuguese startup has won, following Intuitivo’s victory last year.
Founded by Bernardo Seixas, Granter.ai uses AI to streamline access to public funding. The platform identifies the best opportunities for each company, writes applications automatically, and manages post-approval processes. According to Seixas, Granter.ai has already helped companies secure over €2 million in funding, reducing application time from around 50 hours to just two for clients like the Portuguese Navy and the Champalimaud Foundation.
The startup aims to democratize public funding and increase success rates for complex applications. Granter.ai has conducted pilot programs with the Portuguese government and envisions offering the platform directly to governments and the European Commission. The company has raised €400,000 to date and is currently closing a €1.5 million funding round, with over half already secured.
