Motorola Solutions has officially acquired DeepNeuronic, an innovative artificial intelligence startup based in Covilhã, Portugal. Founded in 2021 by Vasco Lopes and Bruno Degardin, the company built a reputation on simple premise: turning ordinary security cameras into smart systems that think in real time.
The platform analyzes video feeds instantly across critical infrastructure, factories, and transport hubs. Instead of just recording an incident for later review, it interprets context on the fly so operators can act while the event is actually happening.
Avigilon video platform artificial intelligence upgrade
The newly acquired software will now live inside Avigilon, the flagship video security platform of Motorola Solutions, bringing advanced monitoring to clients in more than 100 countries, as featured on devs.com.pt webplatform.
The original 17-person team is staying put in Covilhã. They will anchor a key node in the multinational's global development network, creating valuable engineering jobs for local specialists who prefer working from modern offices or flexible coworking spaces.
