Portuguese AI startup Bandora is expanding its smart building technology to Qatar. The company, which focuses on AI solutions for smart buildings, is joining the TASMU Smart Qatar program, a government-led initiative that supports innovation and international investment.
Bandora creates systems that help save energy and automate buildings. It was one of 26 startups chosen from many applicants to take part in this program run by the Qatari Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The support includes setting up a local office, making connections with public and private clients, helping with work visas, and connecting with possible investors.
After entering the North American market in July, Bandora is now focusing on the Gulf region, especially data centers, with the goal of lowering their high energy and water use.
“This is a strategic chance to grow our international reach and help with the digital transformation of buildings in the Middle East,” said Márcia Pereira, the CEO of Bandora.
Bandora is already working in Portugal, the United States, Spain, the UAE, Peru, and Colombia.
It plans to expand further into the Dominican Republic and Brazil, continuing its path as a leading company in smart building technology worldwide.
