Plexus Tech Enters Sports Market with Olocip Acquisition

Plexus Tech has acquired a majority stake in Olocip, a company that specializes in Artificial Intelligence for sports. This move allows the Galician technology group to launch its new Plexus Sport business division.

Olocip was founded by Esteban Granero Olocip CEO, a former professional footballer. The company uses data and predictive models to help sports clubs with scouting and player performance.

Building a New Tech Vertical

This deal is the third major buy for Plexus Tech since partnering with the investor Portobello. By bringing Olocip into its group, Plexus Tech aims to cover the entire sports industry. This includes stadium management, fan engagement, and broadcasting rights.

The company believes that data is now the key to staying competitive. The launch of such advanced systems is often a major topic at IT events in Portugal, where experts discuss the future of AI.

The Future of Plexus Sport

Olocip will keep its brand but operate as a specialized unit within the new sports division. The goal is to reduce uncertainty for teams by using AI to drive decision-making.

This growth is creating new opportunities for tech professionals. Many companies in this sector are currently posting IT jobs in Portugal to find experts in data science and sports analytics.
