Oracle to Lay Off 400 Employees in Romania Amid AI-Focused Restructuring

Oracle is going to let go of about 400 workers in Romania as part of a bigger plan to reorganize the company, which is moving more focus to AI and cloud technologies. The workers were told about this on November 3, 2025, but Oracle hasn’t officially confirmed the news yet.

Oracle has more than 4,400 employees in Romania, working for different parts of the company like Oracle Romania, Oracle Global Services, and Oracle Sovereign Cloud.

In 2024, the company made 1.66 billion lei in revenue from Romania, with Oracle Romania seeing good growth. However, some parts, like Oracle Global Services, had losses. On a global scale, Oracle made $55.78 billion in revenue in 2025, thanks to its work in AI and cloud services.

Some Romanian workers have started working with lawyers to get better support during the layoffs.

They are pooling money to hire a lawyer to help them negotiate better severance packages. It’s not clear which departments will be hit, but this is part of a global trend, with similar layoffs happening in the US earlier this year.
