Italy’s MFE-MediaForEurope, which is owned by the Berlusconi family, has strengthened its control over ProSiebenSat.1 by naming Marco Giordani as the new chief executive officer of the German television company, right after completing the takeover in September.
Marco Giordani, who had been the CFO of MFE since 2000, has more than 20 years of experience in corporate strategy and financial management.
Maria Kyriacou, the chairperson of ProSiebenSat.1’s supervisory board, said, “Marco has deep operational knowledge, strong financial skills, and a proven ability to lead large organizations.” She mentioned that Giordani will now focus on leading ProSiebenSat.1 through its next stage of growth.
This change in leadership comes after MFE slowly increased its share in ProSieben since 2019, which led to MFE owning more than 75% of the company.
Along with the new CEO, Bob Rajan, who previously worked with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement, has been named as the interim CFO. The previous CEO, Bert Habets, and the previous CFO, Martin Mildner, are leaving, as is the previous COO, Markus Breitenecker. Breitenecker’s role will no longer be part of the executive board, showing a more simplified leadership structure under MFE’s control.
