As I finish my 3-year time as CTO at Pleo, I'm really proud of all the things our team has done since 2022.
Unlike some roles that focus on growing the team quickly, my job was about making the most out of the team we had, without adding more people.
Here are some key things we accomplished:
- We worked closely with Mette Hindborg Gade on Product and Design/Tech, making sure our teams worked well together to create real impact.
- We grew Pleo from being just a smart card for small businesses into a full spend management platform for mid-sized companies, complete with AI tools.
- Customers now feel more confident in their financial choices—90% of them say they feel more comfortable now.
- The value each customer gets has gone up a lot, with the average revenue per account increasing four times.
- We made our processes more efficient—our work speed went up four times, and the time it takes to complete tasks was cut in half, from 5.6 days to just 2.8 days.
This was done by fixing old tech issues and making processes better.
- We built a culture that puts customers first and encourages open communication across Product and Tech teams.
- We started the Associate Engineering program, which brought in over 20 entry-level engineers across three different groups.
