Intel Cuts Vice President Ranks to Speed Up Decisions

Intel has reduced its vice presidents from 450 to around 200 under CEO Lip-Bu Tan. The company is cutting bureaucracy, boosting transparency, and pushing products to market faster.

Slashing Management Tiers

CFO David Zinsner confirmed Intel cut its management layers in half, going from 12 tiers down to six. This removes internal "veto power" that before forced products through four or five development cycles before launch.

Production and Margin Recovery

The streamlined structure is already improving execution. Yields for the Intel 18A manufacturing process are ahead of schedule, while Intel 14A is progressing toward risk production in 2027. Gross margins have also rebounded into the low 40% range.
