GMV Portugal has joined the European consortium behind CITADEL_Range, a new initiative to develop advanced simulation platforms for cyber defense training. These platforms aim to enable armed forces and civilian entities to train for complex cyberattack scenarios with high realism, integrating technologies such as digital twins, AI, and augmented reality.
GMV Portugal is tasked with delivering critical technological components, ensuring integration and interoperability across training systems in multiple countries. According to José Neves, Director of Security and Defense at GMV Portugal, the company’s involvement “is a strategic step towards strengthening national cyber defense capabilities” and reinforcing Portugal’s position in a more resilient, technologically autonomous Europe.
Beyond this project, GMV is also participating in five additional initiatives under the 2024 European Defence Fund (EDF) call, confirming its role as a key player in advancing the EU’s security and tech sovereignty.
