GeekSessions is returning to Faro on March 21, 2026, for its yearly conference, where over 150 people will come together with 10 speakers to spend a full day learning about technology, connecting with the community, and gaining useful skills.
The event is happening at Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude (IPDJ) in Faro, and tickets are already on sale.

Speakers chosen through an open call will share real-life experiences and knowledge in areas like:

Besides the discussions, the program also has practical workshops, chances to meet and chat, and a social event that starts at 5:00 PM. Lunch and coffee are part of the ticket cost, which is kept low to cover the meals and help reduce last-minute cancellations.
New in 2026: Community Map
This year brings the Community Map, a special exhibition area focused on the people, projects, and communities that are helping to build the tech scene in the Algarve.
The lounge starts on March 13 and lasts for three weeks, highlighting local efforts in technology, art, gaming, and social impact. Applications for communities and project leaders are open until February 28.

Started as a small group of programmers getting together, GeekSessions has become an important part of the tech community in the Algarve. By holding frequent events and working with groups such as Algarve Tech Hub, GDG Faro, Impact Hackers, Geek Girls Portugal, and LOFT Community, it brings together tech professionals and lovers of technology throughout the area.
