CEO Says AI Will Shape YouTube’s Next 20 Years

Artificial Intelligence will define YouTube’s future, according to CEO Neal Mohan, who said new AI-based tools “will shape the next 20 years” of the platform. The announcement follows Google’s rollout of Veo 3 Fast, a generative AI model tailored for YouTube Shorts, enabling photo animation based on video movements and integration of AI-generated objects or characters into traditional recordings.

YouTube’s goal is to make AI accessible across all stages of content creation, from editing to video generation. While the platform requires AI-produced material to be labeled, much of this information is often buried in metadata, leaving many users unaware of which videos are AI-generated.
