Barbot, a long-standing Portuguese paint and varnish brand, has gone through a digital makeover with Cegid and Premium Partner RIS 2048, to create a smart factory. By putting in Cegid Primavera ERP, industrial management software, they linked people, machines, and operations. This allows for cost oversight, product tracking, and the ability to recreate paint formulas, even after a decade.
The project touches Barbot's work in Portugal, Spain, Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde, creating a Production 5.0 setup with robotic production, real-time machine communication, and a digital workflow. Orders are tracked all the way, from the customer to production, stock, and delivery, for faster and flexible management.
Diogo Barbot, CEO, said the change gives process visibility and meets consumer demand for order info. Luís Cadillon, Cegid Director, said the system unites operational data across stores, for efficiency and standardized commercial rules.
The project had two parts: creating order traceability, and two, changing old data to help predict consumer needs and support data-based decisions.
Joel Ricardo, Barbot Digital Transformation Specialist, said the system helps predict trends and make choices based on hard data. The detail makes sure that ink formulas can be remade with the same stuff, finish, and quality, even after ten years.
The platform has created better commercial and operational gains, backing store growth.
Through this work, Cegid grows as a industrial partner, giving answers that push efficiency and competitiveness.
