Location: Caldas da Rainha

Experience: 4+ Years

You will be responsible for ensuring that the "nervous system" of the AR5 — from IMUs and GNSS/RTK to LiDAR and Optical Flow — delivers high-fidelity data to the autopilot, free of noise, vibrations, or electromagnetic interference.

What you will do (Product Focus)

  • Sensor Research & Selection: Lead the benchmarking of state-of-the-art sensors, balancing extreme performance with SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) constraints.
  • Hardware Design & Physical Integration: Design electronic and mechanical integration solutions, with a complete focus on signal integrity, vibration isolation, and EMI/EMC shielding.
  • Embedded Development: Develop drivers and firmware (C/C++) for sensor interfacing via aviation protocols (DroneCAN, SPI, I2C, UART), ensuring precise temporal synchronization of data.
  • Calibration and Validation: Execute complex calibration routines (thermal compensation of IMUs, magnetometer calibration) and analyze flight logs to diagnose anomalous behaviors.
  • Navigation Architecture: Collaborate with the Flight Control Software team to align hardware capabilities with state estimation algorithm requirements.

What we are looking for

  • Experience: 4+ years in navigation hardware integration or control systems.
  • Education: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or similar fields.
  • Low-Level Mastery: Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems and deep understanding of industrial/aeronautical communication protocols.
  • Hands-on Lab: Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and PCB prototyping tools.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to interpret complex telemetry to identify noise, bias, or sensor instability.

Differentiating Factor (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with ArduPilot or PX4 (driver/HAL level).
  • Knowledge of signal processing and Kalman filters.
  • Experience with aeronautical hardware certification standards.

What we have to offer:

  • We offer an excellent working environment and an opportunity to make a difference;
  • Salary commensurate with proven experience;
  • Daily transportation from Lisbon and Leiria;

If you are ready to embrace this opportunity, send us your application.
