Senior Java Developer – Calypso and Investment Banking Expertise

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading investment bank, on the development and enhancement of core collateral and cash management functionalities within the Calypso platform. You will play a key role in designing robust, high-performance Java applications that support critical back-office operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your main responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications within the Calypso framework to support collateral and cash management processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, interpret business needs, and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring optimal application performance, security, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, define best practices, and promote quality standards across development teams.
• Assist in integrating Calypso with other banking systems and tools within the bank’s technology ecosystem.
• Contribute to regulatory compliance implementations by ensuring systems are audit-ready and traceable.
• Continuously evaluate and improve system performance, scalability, and robustness.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 6 years of proven Java development experience in a financial or banking environment.
• Preferably, hands-on experience with the Calypso platform and back-office processes.
• Strong proficiency with Spring Boot, REST, microservices architecture, and modern Java frameworks.
• Solid understanding of investment banking operations, especially in collateral and cash management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an international team.
• Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Valid right to work in the European Union.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Prior experience with Calypso system customization and integration.
• Additional certifications in Java or financial software.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as MiFID, EMIR, or Dodd-Frank.
