Lisbon-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).

As a Senior Java API Architect, you will be working for our client, a dynamic entity specializing in cutting-edge API solutions and backend architecture design. You will play a pivotal role in building robust, scalable, and secure APIs, shaping seamless integrations and pushing the boundaries of digital transformation in the financial or tech industry. Your main responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain API solutions leveraging Java 8-11 and SpringBoot 2+ frameworks.
  • Create comprehensive API documentation to facilitate internal and external developer integrations.
  • Implement API monitoring and publishing pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and Splunk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure API security, performance, and scalability.
  • Use Hibernate, JPA, and Spring Data to optimize data access layers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of API infrastructure through innovative solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot API performance using Splunk 8+ and other tools.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience in API development, backend architecture, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 8-11 with hands-on experience in SpringBoot 2+.
  • Extensive knowledge of API design, documentation, and publishing.
  • Practical experience with Jenkins, Docker, and API monitoring tools like Splunk.
  • Familiarity with Hibernate, JPA, and Spring Data for database interactions.
  • Good understanding of API security, scalability, and best practices for enterprise integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

  • Certifications related to API architecture or Java development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms or microservices architectures.

Language Required for the role:

  • Good command of English; communicative level.
