Lisbon-based opportunity with a hybrid work model (up to 2 remote days per week).

As a Manual Test Engineer – Functional Quality Assurance, you will be working for our client in the insurance industry, focusing on ensuring the highest standards of software quality for complex life insurance systems. Your main responsibilities:

• Design and execute detailed test plans to verify that User Stories meet all specified requirements and quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive test cases based on User Story specifications.
• Document clear acceptance criteria and create verifiable test scenarios.
• Manually execute functional, regression, and integration tests to validate User Stories.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects effectively to development teams.
• Provide insights and recommendations for quality improvements based on testing outcomes.
• Assist in estimating testing efforts during planning sessions such as Poker and Sprint Planning.
• Contribute quality insights during sprint retrospectives by highlighting trends and improvement areas.
• Support the automation of tests by identifying automation tasks and collaborating with developers to implement and validate automation scripts when applicable.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• Over 4 years of experience in manual and functional testing within the insurance or financial sectors.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and market standards.
• Experience with frontend testing tools such as Karma, Jasmine, Jest, and backend testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Familiarity with automated testing practices, especially using Cucumber, is a plus.
• Working knowledge of life insurance domain is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French.
• Ability to work proactively and collaboratively in an Agile environment.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in testing methodologies or Agile practices.
• Experience with API testing and automation.

Language required for the role:

• English (written and spoken) — proficient level.
• French (written and spoken) — intermediate to proficient, B1/B2 level.
