As an Application Support Engineer – Linux/Windows, DevOps Experts, you will be working for a leading international financial services firm committed to transforming traditional banking through innovative technology solutions. Your main responsibilities:
- Provide expert level support for applications running on Linux and Windows environments, ensuring stability and availability.
- Develop and automate support procedures, incident management, and troubleshooting workflows.
- Collaborate with development, sysadmin, DBA, and networking teams to manage changes and ensure system integrity.
- Manage backups, conduct restoring tests, and ensure data integrity across various databases (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance, adhering to SLAs, and control load capacity.
- Contribute to the automation and continuous enhancement of operational procedures.
- Document architecture, procedures, and operational workflows to maintain comprehensive technical records.
- Work closely with development teams on application architecture and infrastructure standards.
- Participate in change management activities, including scheduled infrastructure tasks such as electrical shutdowns and server migrations.
- Keep technical documentation up to date and support ongoing infrastructure projects.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum of 9 years’ experience in application support, DevOps, or related IT roles.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.
- Hands-on experience with VTOM or other industrial schedulers.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell.
- Experience working with JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or IIS.
- Solid understanding of databases: Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL.
- Knowledge of infrastructure backups and monitoring tools, ideally Zabbix or Grafana.
- Familiarity with LDAP, Firewall, Reverse Proxy, Active Directory, and Kerberos.
- Basic networking knowledge.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certifications related to DevOps or system administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms or automation tools.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English (minimum B2 level).
